publishing house
AHORA, Editions for Bibliophiles and Artists´ Books was
set up in the year 2001 in Murcia (Spain). Up to now, the house has
published 15 large format books, 44 x 32 x 4.5 cm, a print run of 295
copies, which include serigraphy and original photographs signed by
the artists.
The publishing
house has received
three National Awards for the best
published book in bibliophily from
the Ministry
of Culture, which
include the First
Prize in
the years 2003 and 2004, and the Third
Prize in
2006. In
addition, they were given the Gold
Medal by AMUCA in
2005. Finally, in the years 2008 – 2009 they were awarded the First
National Award for
Art Publication
“José
Lázaro Galdiano”.
The following
authors, among others, have written texts, poems or prefaces in the
published books: Juan
Marsé, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Francisco Brines,
Luis
Alberto de Cuenca, Pere Gimferrer, Arnau Puig, Isidoro
Valcárcel
Medina, Francisco Calvo Serraller, Félix Duque, Sabrina van
der Ley, Ángel Pina, Mieke Bal, and Arnau Puig, as
well as the classics such as: Dante
Alighieri, Rey Salomón, Honoré de Balzac, Carmen
Conde and Mary Shelley.
Isidoro
Valcárcel Medina, Santiago Ydáñez,
Javier Pérez,
Alberto Corazón, Ouka Leele, Cristóbal
Gabarrón,
Eduardo Úrculo, Nicolás de Maya, Manolo Belzunce,
Antonio Martínez Mengua and Sergio
Belinchón, among
others, have
created serigraphs and taken original photographs for several books.
They have
participated in numerous art and book fairs, such as LIBER
INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
in Madrid and Barcelona, ARCO
Madrid, other
book fairs in Murcia
and Cartagena, VALENCIA-ART
and ENCONTRO-EDICIÓN in Pontevedra.
They have also
participated in various international book fairs, such as the International
Book Fair in Frankfurt
(Germany), book fairs in Madrid
(Spain), London
(Great Britain) and Guadalajara
(Mexico), where they presented their awarded books at the official
stands of the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
